I am ready to book. What happens next?

Please submit a booking contact form to let me know your preferred session type and date. Following the contact form you will be prompted to fill in a detailed questionnaire so that I can learn a little bit about you and your family and your expectations from the session. I use that information to further customise your professional family photography experience.

Following your booking questionnaire you will receive booking retainer payment information to secure your session date and a contract to be signed electronically on my website. Once the booking retainer is paid and the contract is signed, your session date and time are locked and you will receive a booking confirmation.

My child is not feeling well and I would like to reschedule my session date/time that’s already been confirmed.

This is totally not an issue. One of the things I pride myself in is flexibility. I want to make sure every single family member is well and happy, so if you need to reschedule last minute due to health concerns, don’t hesitate to let me know. I am usually able to reschedule your session, subject to dates availability.

Our session is scheduled for outside but the weather isn’t cooperating. What do we do?

I usually keep in touch with you few days prior to your session and check weather forecast rigorously. Should the weather not be suitable for the outdoor session, we will reschedule for the next available date. Should you prefer to move your session inside, we can do that as well. 

I am really not good at posing and feel uncomfortable in front of the camera. 

I know exactly how it feels. Rest assured you will forget about the camera. Your job is simply to enjoy your loved ones’ company, have fun and follow some gentle guidance I will provide. Leave the rest to me. You won’t be disappointed!

What should we wear?

First and foremost, make sure you wear something COMFORTABLE. There are various options depending on the type and style of session you’d like but generally neutral and simple work well. Rich, bold colours will add a nice pop to your photos. Layers and textures are always a plus. I’d recommend colour coordinating your colours and stay away from matchy matchy. Avoid large logos and distracting large prints. But most importantly, stay true to yourself, so if you never ever wear heels, don’t pressure yourself to wear a pair to your session. I want to document YOU!

Our session is in our home. How should we prepare?

First of all, don’t stress. I like to document your REAL life as it is. Some clutter may need to be moved out of sight but that’s not something we can’t do as soon as I arrive for your session. We will shoot in the rooms with the most natural light so concentrate on those parts of your house.

What about the actual session? What happens then?

I move through your session in a very relaxed manner. The first 15-20 minutes are usually spent chatting (and taking a tour of your house if we shoot indoors), I will ask your child(ren) to show me their room and tell me a bit more about what their favourite things are. If it is a newborn session, it will revolve around your baby and their needs, leaving the time for feeding and changing breaks. If there are siblings of toddler age, I will usually follow their lead, watching out for baby’s needs and cues. It’s a fine balance, but it works and the most important thing is to relax and enjoy the process.

How long will it be before I can view my photos?

Your digital gallery is delivered to you for viewing within 2 weeks after the session. Shortly thereafter your custom USB is posted to you. If there are any products included with your package it may take a little longer, subject to product delivery times.

I would love to book, but money is a bit tight right now.

I know it can be tough especially for a new family. I do offer custom payment plans where your session fee is divided into several instalments. We can shoot your session once the first instalment is paid and your gallery will be released once all payment is received in full. No stress for you and we can still document those precious moments for your family!
