Congratulations! {New Baby Alert}

Congratulations! {New Baby Alert}

Congratulations to Bec, Al and their happy family on the arrival of their beautiful baby boy! I know the significance of the dress colour choice for the session as it often predicts the baby sex, whether the couple know what they are expecting or whether it is a surprise and the colour is chosen subconsciously.

Congratulations once again!!! So thrilled for you and your beautiful family!

I posted a sneak peek and another preview from this extended family session the other day. And finally I get to blog about it.

As a Melbourne Family Photographer, family sessions are some of my favourites. I love exploring and capturing connections between family members and always find the time to capture individual portraits to showcase the loving relationships between different family members.

It was a special get together for Lyle’s very special birthday. Both of Lyle’s daughters came down to Melbourne with their families for the weekend. What is a better way to celebrate your life than with a special family photo shoot?!

Although the weather didn’t cooperate, I have to give it out to the family for being so enthusiastic to work with me to create these special images. As typical with the Melbourne weather, it must have changed 3 times just prior to our session although nearly all week before that it was unusually cold and rainy. So inevitably, we ended up photographing the family in their family home.

I am quite flexible when working with my clients and try to adapt to circumstances and such was this case – in fact, family home makes for a stunning backdrop for such extended family portraits. It probably holds special memories for your family so it would most definitely make a great story in the photographs. It sometimes comes with a challenge for natural light when you have large groups especially on rainy and cloudy days like the day of our session. But I think we made it work beautifully and I can’t be more excited to share these with you.

Thank you ‘T’ Family for trusting me to capture these memories for you.

xx

Can’t resist to post this sneak peek from this recent family session. The whole family gathered to celebrate Lyle’s Big Day and the family gallery will be published a bit later. Meanwhile, here are the sweetest images of Lyle and Christina. So much love between these two!

Bec + Al {Expecting + Love Each Other}

Bec + Al {Expecting + Love Each Other}

To be honest, I always feel a little nervous before I release a gallery to a client. I worry if they will love it as much as I do. I get nervous about the moments I’ve captured even if I know I did my absolute best – would they love the angles I’ve picked? Will they be happy with themselves in the pictures we created?

Photographer is an absolute other breed of client 🙂 I know this with myself – we are overly critical (of ourselves), yet we don’t want to sound like we are complaining too much. We may know all our best sides and angles yet we struggle to compose yourself during the session. Or you think you do. In reality, we just get extremely shy and uncomfortable being on the other side of the camera. Perhaps, because it is a bit like losing a security blanket. Usually, including children in the session makes it a little easier as paradox as it may sound. Bec’s session, however, didn’t include any children… almost… you see, Bec of Bec Stewart Photography are expecting baby #4!!!

Before I met and saw them together I was sincerely wondering how they do it. Because I have only 2 and it can get quite busy! Now all of it makes perfect sense! These two are so fun and loving together, I am totally not surprised they are having another baby! They got so lost in each other in the first half of our shoot which is always a great sign especially when you incorporate Beloved Technique with maternity!

Congratulations Bec and Al! This baby could not have chosen a better family to be born into! And Bec, I won’t get tired repeating it – you look absolutely stunning!!!
